Mesa, Ariz. (Oct. 2, 2024) — Able Aerospace Services, Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, an industry leader in repair, overhaul, exchange and approved replacement parts for fixed- and rotor-wing customers around the world, has certified as a Green Aviation Business under the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), which encourages environmental sustainability within the industry.

NATA’s Sustainability Standard is designed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, increase use of more environmentally friendly energy sources, reduce waste and encourage sustainability across the business. Able Aerospace achieved certification by installing a machine-learning system on air compressors to reduce energy, installing motion-sensor lighting, and implementing an Energy Management System for heating and cooling in its Mesa, Arizona, facility.

“At Able Aerospace, we are committed to creating a more sustainable future for our employees, communities and customers,” said Travis Tyler, vice president and general manager. “This certification signifies our continued dedication to sustainability which is important for today and tomorrow.”

The NATA Sustainability Standard is a self-certification process for aviation businesses to pursue flexible, cost-effective options to lower their carbon footprint.

“As an organization, we understand our responsibility in being a good steward of the environment as well as achieving excellence in the aviation industry,” said Tyler.

Operating from a 250,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility headquartered in Mesa, Arizona, Able Aerospace offers more than 10,000 FAA-approved repairs and overhauls and has one of the world’s largest rotable exchange inventories.
